Periscope view — a perspective mimicking looking through a periscope, with a circular field of view and often a crosshair reticle, creating a sense of covert observation.
When to use it — perfect for adding a vintage spy or submarine aesthetic. The circular frame isolates the subject and draws the eye, while the reticle (the aiming crosshairs) reinforces the feeling of surveillance.
Avoid overdoing — the reticle can clutter the image; use it only when the covert angle is essential. Pair with muted, desaturated colors to evoke old film stocks.
