over-the-shoulder shot
Category
Subject
Frame realistic professional interactions using an over-the-shoulder shot, establishing deep focus on the subject while retaining contextual depth.
Creating Connection Through Perspective
This composition immediately establishes a relationship between two subjects, placing the viewer directly into the conversation. It works incredibly well for business and interview scenarios because it provides vital context without distracting from the main subject's emotional expression.
Actionable Tip: Keep the foreground shoulder slightly out of focus to guide the viewer’s eye naturally toward the candidate. Avoid symmetrical framing; off-center positioning feels much more organic and documentary-like.
