Noren curtain framing
Category
Subject
Noren curtain framing is a compositional technique where a split fabric doorway curtain partially frames the background subject, creating depth and intimacy.
Depth and reveal: Noren curtain framing creates depth by dividing the foreground with split fabric edges, using negative space (the clear area around your subject) to isolate what lies behind.
Lighting focus: Keep the foreground curtains dimly lit or softly blurred. Casting brighter light on the background subject creates a peephole effect that pulls the viewer straight through the frame.
