Slit-scan photography is a technique that records motion through a moving narrow slit, warping moving objects into surreal, fluid streaks of stretched time.
Slice time across space. Slit-scan works best when a subject moves directly across your frame at a steady pace. Because the image records one narrow strip at a time, motion transforms into physical shape—turning straight edges into rubbery waves.
Keep your camera completely locked on a tripod; if the camera shakes, the continuous background tears into jagged glitchy artifacts rather than smooth fluid trails.
