shutter drag
Subject
Shutter drag is a camera technique using a slow shutter speed so moving elements smear into smooth streaks while motionless background details stay crisp.
Stabilize the static frame: Shutter drag relies on contrast between sharp stillness and fluid movement. Keep your camera locked on a heavy tripod so fixed structures stay pin-sharp while motion paints smooth trails across the exposure.
Use a tight aperture or a neutral density filter (a dark lens glass that cuts light) to allow slow exposures (1/8s to 1/2s) without overexposing.
