Vellum is a fine, semi-translucent skin or paper with a smooth matte texture, casting a soft, milky glow when warm light filters through its cloudy grain.
Backlight is non-negotiable: Vellum lives and dies by translucency (light passing through without being fully clear). Frontal lighting flattens it into generic cream cardstock. Position your light source behind the subject so light penetrates the cloudy, milky grain.
