Polaroid is a distinctive instant-print photographic look defined by a square composition, soft focus, muted, slightly warm colors, and a signature white border.
Nailing the Polaroid look
The Polaroid aesthetic thrives on muted, slightly warm colors — think faded yellows and dusty greens, never bright primaries. Soft focus is essential: prompt for 'dreamy lens blur' or 'plastic lens softness' to mimic the iconic quality of instant prints. Avoid harsh lighting: use window light or overcast conditions to flatten contrast, which reinforces the nostalgic, low-fi feel. Finally, the white border is your anchor — include it explicitly, but keep it thin and clean so it frames rather than overpowers the image.
