Kidcore is an aesthetic built on 1990s childhood nostalgia, filled with bright primary colors, rainbow sticker collages, plastic beads, and smiley face motifs.
Nail the toybox palette: Kidcore relies on pure primary colors—bold reds, sunshine yellows, and cobalt blues—rather than muted vintage tones. Ground your scenes in playful, tactile textures like molded plastic, alphabet beads, and sticker decals.
Watch the boundary: Avoid surreal or distorted lighting, which tips the engine toward weirdcore (an eerie, unsettling internet aesthetic). Keep your lighting bright, even, and cheerful to preserve the genuine childhood nostalgia.
