Massurrealism is surrealism remixed with mass media: dreamlike collages where ad slogans, TV screens and pop product imagery collide in impossible scenes.
Where it differs
Not to be confused with pop surrealism (also called lowbrow art). That style is usually hand-painted and cartoonish. Massurrealism builds its dream logic from media fragments: billboards, broadcast static, packaging and screen glow.
- Name the media: adding one concrete source, like 1960s magazine ads or CRT television (old boxy tube TVs), steers the collage far better than the bare word.
- Watch for clutter: too many fragments read as a busy mood board. Keep one dominant figure for the dream to orbit.
