Sculpt natural facial features and elegant volume in professional portraits using soft directional lighting to mimic organic window illumination.
Sculpting Form with Soft Light
Soft directional lighting avoids the harsh, unflattering shadows of direct light while steering clear of flat, lifeless on-camera flash. It introduces a subtle gradient across the face, defining cheekbones and jawlines with an elegant falloff that feels natural and cinematic.
Actionable Tip: Mimic a large north-facing window by positioning your virtual light source slightly to one side of the subject. This creates a gentle wrap-around effect that naturally flatters skin textures while preserving subtle, soft shadow areas.
