Aliceblue is a very pale, delicate blue that appears almost white at first glance, with only the faintest cool blue tint, like a clear winter sky at midday.
Use it as a near-white base. Aliceblue is so pale it reads as white in bright light — reserve it for subjects where that subtle cool tint matters.
- Not powder blue. Powder blue is a bit more saturated (richer, stronger color) and warmer; aliceblue is lighter and cooler, almost icy.
- Pair with deep navy or charcoal for contrast, or with other pastels for a soft, airy palette.
- Avoid white backgrounds — aliceblue needs a slightly darker or neutral backdrop to be seen at all.
