Roughout turns full-grain leather inside-out, creating a coarse, fibrous nap that is far chunkier than brushed suede.

• Use raking light: Position light at a sharp side angle to catch individual raised fibers and cast realistic micro-shadows.
• Avoid front flash: Flat, direct lighting washes out texture and makes the material look like flat cardboard.
