Rasquache is a Chicano working-class aesthetic of making do — loud, layered, improvised art built from cheap, found and recycled stuff with defiant pride.
Steer with materials, not stereotypes. Left alone, the model may drift toward tourist clichés. Naming humble stuff like coffee cans, bottle caps, tin, plastic flowers and duct tape keeps the result rooted in real resourcefulness.
